Option C print out
I have a question regarding providing the original "Option C Printout" - I read on a website that if I am sponsoring my spouse and he/we have no dependant children then we do not need to demonstrate a minimum income. Then why do I need to provide the Option C Printout? And also how does this effect us if I have been recieveing social assistance for the last few months? I am currently going to college and it was helping me make ends meet. I knew I couldn't be on it to sponsor him, but I didn't know they would look back 12 months or I would have suffered without the whole $75 a month if I would have known, PLEASE tell me this is not going to mess everything up. We just got married on Sat, and I really don't want this to wreck everything. :(

Do you HAVE TO submit this option C thing...or is there a way to get around it?

Thanks

RE: Option C print out
I believe the Option C print out is just to support the fact that you are employed and are making some sort of income. You absolutely DO have to submit it with your application. As for your social assistance... why not call Revenue Canada and/or CIC and ask them about your situation? When I spoke to Revenue Canada (I live right by the building so I just walked in) I explained my situation and they didn't seem like it was anything new to sponsor a husband from the states, they probably get these questions and scenarios all the time. Wish I could help more!
