Mistake On PR App
Hi, I'm new here. I'm a US citizen married to a Canadian citizen. Dated since 2003, married in 2007, our son was born here in Canada last year :)
I currently have a 1 yr visitor visa (exp 10/10). I just mailed my application kit, pictures, copies, medical, clear FBI etc etc today. I went over these several times but of course had that nagging feeling I left something off. I just found I made 2 mistakes on my background declaration: 1.) When listing my personal history I began with the earliest instead of the most current. Yes, I now see it states "start with most recent". 2.) "Have you ever sought refugee status in Canada or applied for a Canadian immigrant or permanent resident visa or visitor or temporary resident visa?" I checked NO. Well, duh I have a visitor visa, even copied it and mailed it with my application These are such dumb mistakes, I can't believe I didn't catch these. My husband doesn't think it will be a problem, but could these cause my app to be returned or is this something I can re-do and fax? Mississauga won't receive them until Friday. Thanks in advance for any help! Joan July 20, 2010 - App Mailed to Mississauga July 22, 2010 - App Received August 23, 2010 - Sponsorship Approved/App sent to Buffalo |

RE: Mistake On PR App
Don't worry about it - I'm sure they see worse. I wouldn't stress over trying to "fix" anything unless they ask you to. CPC-M won't send the application back over something like that - and the overseas office doesn't send aps back . . . they just request additional or corrected information.

RE: Mistake On PR App
Thank you so much RobsLuv! I also called CIC yesterday and they said it shouldn't be a problem and they'll most likely call for clarification as opposed to returning the entire file.
Thanks Again! July 20, 2010 - App Mailed to Mississauga July 22, 2010 - App Received August 23, 2010 - Sponsorship Approved/App sent to Buffalo |

RE: Mistake On PR App
1 doesn't matter, as long as all the correct info is there. A problem would be if there was missing time (unaccounted for). The order reversed I'm sure they see all the time.
As for 2, if you're a US citizen, you didn't actually get a visa, most likely it's actually a visitor record - US citizens are visa exempt, so if you quoted the question accurately then by my reading, you actually answered it correctly.
