Married after IO interview
We got married 3 weeks after my wife had her IO interview (outland marriage). We were supposed to get married 2 weeks before the interview but some of my documents were not ready in time. I was approved as sponsor in August and her interview date was sent to her in
late August for a mid November interview. When I made sponsorship application I was not married yet ( April this year). Her temporary visa to come and get married in Canada was refused before I made application to sponsor. After her interview in her home country the officer gave no indication of decision or time to wait. We now have marriage certificate, must we send it to officer/immigration ? If so how long before decision by IO ?
Thanks

RE: Married after IO interview
If you have a marriage certificate, it would be wise to send a copy to the visa office - make sure you include the file number on the marriage certificate. Note that it is unlikely to make a difference since the evaluation will normally be done against your status at the time you submitted the application, but it certainly cannot hurt.

If you still have not heard anything, I would expect that the application is proceeding. Usually, from what I have seen, if the officer has relationship concerns they refuse the application within a short time after the interview. This is not guaranteed, of course, just based upon my own observations.

FSW: App 6/09, reject 12/11, JR leave 7/12, discontinued 9/12
Spousal: App 3/12, sponsor approval 6/12, PPR 9/12. Landed 13 October 2012.

RE: Married after IO interview
I just received a refusal letter mentioning that the reason was that we were not in a meaningful relation long enough before we were married and that we did not have any joint things together financially like a bank account and credit cards to prove that we were jointly attached to each other before we got married. We knew and lived together for 6 months in Canada before we decided to get married in her country as outbound marriage. I went to see an immigration lawyer and he suggested that I re apply as a spousal application, after all we are married now and we have to wait all over again God knows how long that will take.. She lives alone in her country and I live alone in Canada now. We are both in our 60's and retired. I do find it strange that we should have had a bank account together as well as waiting longer together before we tied the knot. I was told that we have the option to appeal but what do they need or what can I add to that point. They have all the paperwork and I don't think there is anything to add. Unless I need to go to her country and live there for 6 months or so to add to the time together and open a joint bank account.
