Hi folks

I haven't dropped by much recently (busy with a summer full of adventures, and I'm getting married in under two weeks), but I thought I should post, as I just printed and signed my citizenship application this afternoon (I became eligible last week). I'll pick up the photos and mail it in the morning.

I wonder how long CSIS will take. The good thing is it really doesn't matter if they delay it this time round.

I hope everyone's doing well, and thanks to those of you who have been steadily promoting the e-CAS tracker. It gets a constant stream of use from new people, and it's all word-of-mouth.

Matthew
Yay! Hopefully your citizenship will be processed quickly :)

I use the ecas tracker as well, so thanks for that!
Good Luck, Matthewc.
I am mailing my application tomorrow. I too became eligible last week, but wanted to give some buffer time/days..

Back to the waiting game & hoping for the Best
Wow, how time flies!! I'm so happy life has been so good for you. Looking forward to the wedding. Hugs! Yippee
Yeah it's kind of crazy actually. Really brings home how much they dragged you through it... at one point our timelines weren't so dissimilar. Now you're still waiting for PR and I'm eligible for citizenship already. They weren't even super speedy with my PR application. There's no sense to CIC's madness. I'm glad you guys can make it down for the wedding - it should be fun, and I'm so happy we were able to wait and do it on our own terms.
I'm glad for that, too - that you guys were allowed to marry when it felt right for you. And, yeah, it wasn't lost on me that when we first met we were both waiting on PR . . . now, Buffalo actually started re-processing three years to the week that they first got our ap. Big wait right now is the FBI - unfortunately they don't expedite anymore. When all's said and done I'll probably have waited at least 3 months just for that - so that's slowed everything down. Whatever - at this point I've stopped counting. I remember when "how long will it take?" was the big question - now I know the answer . . . "forever" . . . or at least it feels that way. I'm just so thankful that Rob & I and the kids been able to stay together through this - there are so many who have to wait it out separated. I don't think I'd have been strong enough to endure that.
Hope its a speedy process for you........
good luck! I applied 16 months ago and still waiting for a test date. It took CIC 1 year just to send my file to my local office!

You don't have to send any supporting documents in with a citizenship application, just the (fairly short) application form, fees receipt, citizenship photos, and copies of your ID, COPR or IMM1000, and PR card.

It's really very straight forward compared to the PR application.
Yeah, the hardest part of the application was waiting until the day after I was eligible, that and just trying to figure out when that was exactly.
Hi Harp,

Update from CIC that too within a month is too optimistic!!
So, as of now "No news is good news" ..

I have no clue who else from 2005 PR group is also waiting
What about you? when r u applying or have you already applied?

Wow, talking about my application status on a Canadian immigration forum-- brings back memories!

This is my first post on this forum. I just found it while googling to get information on how long my citizenship application will take. I had sent it in July. Looks like it will take 6 months to open, and another 8-10 months after that to process.

I used to follow a different forum, on immigration.ca, while I was doing my PR application 3 or 4 years ago. Reading through this thread, I feel like I recognize some names from that forum, and from thoe 3-4 years ago.

Rshree, are you the same rshree who used to post on immigration.ca back in 2007? You may remember me, I have the same handle here as back then.

Aussiepete, I feel like your name is familiar too.
Cheers!
