I'm the Canadian spouse, sponsoring my American husband. It seemed to take forever to get all the paperback gathered for the application, but now that it's submitted, things seem to be moving along quite nicely.:)

I just checked the status, and was thrilled to learn that Buffalo has started processing and the medical has been received. Yay!!!Happyguy

Here's our timeline:

July 17, 2009 ~ Mailed application to CIC.
July 20, 2009 ~ Application received.
August 19, 2009 ~ Decision made, sponsorship approved.
August 25, 2009 ~ Sponsorship letter received.
September 3, 2009 ~ Buffalo started processing application. Medical results have been received. Viewable online 09/07/07.
Hi sunlight . Looks like our time line is identical. Have you received any response from buffalo yet. I got an email today saying my file has been trf to NY to expedite. I don't really know why it was transferred? Any idea??
No, nothing new here. Waiting, waiting.... lol.

I'm assuming that they transferred your file to NY because Buffalo is really busy, and it will get processed quicker at the NY office. Just my guess...
thanks for your positive assumption. I hope you are right.. I hope you get your PPR from buffalo without having any delay.
Found out today that my husband's file was transferred to Los Angeles on Sept. 29.
Hi Sunlight
Some senior members of this forum said.. buffalo is probably backlogged thats why they are transferring the file to different consulate office within USA. Anyways good luck to you.. hopefully it wont take that long.
Received the request for Right of Permanent Residence Fee today!

I wish we'd submitted it when we first applied, because not doing so has caused a delay, but at the time we really didn't have the money. Anyway, fee is paid and receipts will go in the mail tomorrow. :)
Congrats. I am going crazy. You are at about the same timeline but I have heard nothing except my file was transferred to NY way back when. Dont even know if they have my medicals. I set everything in at once. Paid everything thinking it would help, but does not appear to be helping. Congrats again. Great news for you. Hope it does not take you too much longer now.

Michael
That's great Sunlight!
sunlight you should have paid right of Permanent Residence Fee at the time when you submitted your application. From my experience, i know because of PRF your application processing delays upto 3-4 weeks. Anyways hopefully everything will be done be before Jan. good luck.
