Hi everyone,
We applied Canadian Immigration via Skilled worker class and currently we live in New York. We are not permanent residents in United States & we are from Sri Lanka. We submitted all the documents except police certificates from Sri Lanka.
Now two months have passed but we didnot get any response from Canadian office in Buffalo, New York.
Please let us know how long will it take to get any feedback from immigration office.

When did u apply?
Since new immigration policies r to be in place for applicantions sent after 27th Feb, CIC has not been sending file number to any new applicants.. The much wanted list of jobs in demand in Canada is likely to be released by Nov end..
Even if they send u anything, its only temp ack..stating the above fact..
Its only 2 months in ur case, which is quite normal.. Give some more time like a month or so..Meanwhile find out from ur bank if ur processing fee has been encashed

I really find your posts very informative and helpful. I had applied for my immigration from London and now they say that they have made a decision and the same will be made available to me by next month. I dont know what could they possibly ask for, now.
Can I ask you for a favor RShree if it is ok with you ? Is there any chance I could request my CAIPS file through yourself. I read somewhere that it contains more information than the online status check site which just shows a couple of lines. I can mail you a self addressed envelope and the fee if you would like to help me with the CAIPS.
