Hi everyone,

How long does it take for my baby to get her citizenship certificate from applying? I am a Canadian and my wife is an American. The baby lives with my wife in the States.

My wife is getting together the PR application and I am wondering if we must have our daughter's citizenship certificate included with her PR application? We want to send off my wife's PR application ASAP but the CIC website said it might take 6-12 months (yikes). I hope it is not that long since it will slow down the PR process significantly.

Like I said, include her birth certificate and your birth certificate (which shows she's a citizen by birth) and also proof you've applied for a citizenship certificate for her; hopefully that will suffice.
