ThX!
If you want to contact CSIS you should do it in writing:

If you really want phone numbers, you can find them on GEDS.
Hi Jane
you can fax to them, they will answer you wthin 4 weeks.
they will need your full information
your full name
Immigration ID #
your date of birth
Yes , go ahead and write , they will answer. I did it and they answer back with good news.Good luck.
After how long should I write to CSIS? It's been almost 4 months since they started the background checks. I'm starting to get a bit worried.

This is an outland application, I thought we were supposed to have priority! CIC keeps telling me the background checks are still in progress and the reason it's taking longer than expected is because I've lived before in Canada for longer than 6 months. I still don't understand why it's taking so long. Would they scrutinize my app because I worked for a NGO here in Brazil and volunteered in Israel? Oh my nerves!!!

Most likely, yes - if you lived in Canada for more than 6 months they may have sent off for a CSIS security clearance. It shouldn't be anything to worry about, but it does often take 6 months or more to complete. I don't think you need to be concerned at this stage.

Thanks, Matthew!

Do you know if CSIS make a distinction between outland and inside applications ? Cause I've always had the impression that the background/security checks done for inland applications take much longer. That means if you lived in Canada for more than 6 months you're automatically in for the same check the inland apps get ?
CSIS' number is 613-993-9620

They are really nice people Thumbsup But yes, it would be a good idea to write if it has been awhile :)
Ok i'have call and the gentleman is nice. That is true.

Mrs Hier Lihi
fax: 613-231-0672 wich is not the same another person posted here somewhere. May it be for french speaking this one ?
I am.
I I will come back with the news later.
I received the CSIS letter. The date written is may 25th ; 2 weeks an a half after my fax. I received it june 1st. It says that the investigation is not finished yet.

At least i know it is not lost in the mail.
Me too, I just got an reply from CSIS yesterday saying it is still in process. The reply is exactly the same as what I request from last time. They just have a same template, but not giving you any detail which step it is now.

My question here is : the CSIS has been going on since Sept 2008. It takes toooooooo long, and each time I asked, they just saying in process. Is there a way to accelerate their process? This is super frustrating. Can anyone help me what I can do to push them rather than just geting a letter saying in process each time.

Thanks a lot!
Unfortunately there,s nothing to do. I was talking about taht with my MP's assistant. Shae said that the MP himself tried to do something once in a case with CSIS and he got kicked of as we were.
She also said that PC ideological fed. gov. decreased CIC budget recently. Nothing to help them work faster....
I'm not sure I understand the CSIS...does everyone get one of these?
