I wouldn't call it sad - I would call it stupid

Well I would say it would be sad for his family and any of the poor saps who had to witness this.

Probably the part that irks me the most about that article is the last paragraph
Quote:"I was so impressed at people came and helped out," said Halleran. "We might be a million people, we might have terrible gang problems, but we're not New York yet."

Every human has a limit, looks like he couldn't take it any more.

I dunno about now, but for a few years back NY City was a safer city then many in Canada.
But its irritating, they have probably never been to NY or even the US for any length of time.

Bingo!
Exactly
My guy was surprised they didn't say Toronto, seems like western Canada hates Toronto..

OK This guy needs the Lord.....

Definitely sad. His mental health was clearly not at top. Too bad he didn't get help before this happened

IMO its sad that this guy felt that he had no other option...That speaks volumes in my head...How far will all of this go...The sad part is, all of us can relate because the immigration process is so messed up...Still feel that the immigration process is a way to discriminate and treat people unfairly...If you are canadian the sad realization that your country is not free one bit is scary...You do not have the right to marry who you want...If you do you are guarnted to be put threw hell...For better or worse...

Believe me, the US process isn't any better or less frustrating :p
I hope the guy recovers well, and sorts out whatever is going wrong with this process with CIC.

Maybe its not any better not sure I was really lucky in the US where as my house was right next to the immigration office well not right next but close enough that when I went in there with my husband we finally got the help that we needed and everything was going good until he got cancer ;(...But being on that side then comming over here as I feel I had no choice for my husbands health...I find it very discouraging and heart breaking that CANADA will deport you, and in the US if you are married they will not seek to deport you as long as you go to your interviews and apts...which we did and they also told my husband that since we were married they would not seek to deport him, where as canada is eager to kick everyone out...The grass seems greener on the other side when it comes to immigration...Just my opinon and the experinces that I have had in dealing with this in my life... ;)

Immigration process for both US and Canada is scary and frustrating. Why Canadian embassy take too much long time for immigration visa process?

I thought so. I can also say that immigration is frustrating. You'll pay for everything, doing all the efforts, but still, that isn't enough.
